Mountains Arts Field Trips @ HSC

Looking for a field trip unlike any other in the area?

Bring your organization to the Holly Springs Center in Pickens County for a Mountain Arts and Heritage field trip that is custom designed for your interests. We offer classes in pottery, woodworking, stained glass, fiber arts, Appalachian music & dance, nature studies & gardening, and mountain heritage & culture (e.g., bee-keeping, soap-making) for children grades K-6.

When schools sign up for a HSC field trip, we customize half-day or full-day programs that include 2, 3, or more topic areas depending upon the teachers’ interests. These field trips are age-appropriate, and align with SC State Standards.

ROAD SHOW - (Anderson, Pickens, Oconee, Greenville Counties ONLY) We can also bring the field trip to you! We offer all of our course offerings in your school setting. Contact us for more information.

Dear Administrators, Teachers and Parents,

You are probably aware of the Holly Springs Center’s focus on classes, activities, and camps related to its School of Mountain Arts (SOMA). Additionally, we are currently offering field  trips to public, private, and home school groups from anywhere. Due to the financial hardship placed upon schools by the pandemic, we have reduced our price to $10 per student for all  student groups booking a field trip to our facility. We will abide by all COVID19 safety  guidelines suggested by the district for public field trips and will accommodate home school and  private schools with the same standards that are in place at their schools for the safety of their  students.
We hope you will consider bringing your school group to Holly Springs Center, which is in a  beautiful setting, on fourteen acres of land with a creek running through the large playground  positioned on the edge of the Blue Ridge Escarpment. Instructors of our classes are well seasoned and knowledgeable at teaching their craft and have a high level of expertise. Overall,  we offer a unique experience at Holly Springs Center where groups can custom-design a field  trip that is age-appropriate, aligns with SC State Standards, and is unlike any other opportunity  in our area. Students may take classes in an array of Mountain Arts and Environmental/Nature based courses.
We offer the unique opportunity for your students to participate in a field trip that is in short  traveling distance, very reasonably priced, and can be comfortably taken advantage of even in  inclement weather. We are also able to hold several of our classes in an outdoor setting on many  days to accommodate social distancing guidelines and to enjoy the attractive surroundings.
Be sure to visit our website or Facebook page for Holly Springs Center. We look forward to answering any questions you may have and serving you and  your students on a field trip to the Holly Springs Center.

Thank you so much for your consideration!
